The Doberman is a dog breed that wrongly has a rather negative reputation. Dogs of this breed are good watchdogs, but at the same time they love to play and are full of zest for life. If their keeping conditions are respected, they are very balanced, calm and affectionate. Moreover, compared to other dog breeds, the Doberman has outstanding control.
The Doberman bears the name of its original breeder, Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector who was responsible for catching street dogs in Thuringia in the 19th century. He aimed to breed a very special guard dog that didn’t exist anywhere else. He began to cross various breeds of sheepdogs, Pinschers, Rottweilers and Weimaraners, creating the dog breed we know today.
